OK, what’s occurring?

Well, here I am.  I am on my second glass of red wine, sat in my newly acquired ‘office’.  I say office, it’s actually a tiny room in our house where we dry laundry.  But I have been allowed to make it my own and here is where I will work, paint, play my guitar and whatever else I can do within reason.  For anything else, I will lock the door, I promise.  Oh, and it will still be used to dry the laundry!

I am in my mid-forties and married with two daughters so I live in an environment that is flooded with Oestrogen, no meal time is complete without the topic of ‘Periods’ being touched upon and a trip to the bathroom can spiral into a dangerous encounter with all sorts of foreign objects who purpose is a mystery.

But it keeps me on my toes.

So why am I doing this? Good question.  I have sort of been bullied into it really.

A friend of mine, Howard, has said I should write and as much as I admire Howard’s opinions, I have never seen myself as a writer.  But recently Howard has not been the only one.  A few people have started to say it to me, so, in an effort to make them regret their words, I am writing this and I am going to make damn sure they subscribe!

What am I going to write about?  Well, whatever I bloody well like really.  probabaly about work (I am a publisher), about painting.  I like oil painting. Music, what’s going on in the world, and of course, red wine.  A day without red wine is like a day without sunshine.  That was said to me one lunchtime, by a bloke drunk on red wine.

So, here goes, hope you enjoy.
